COVID Policies

Here is a summary about how we will maximize safety this year (2021). Note, in 2022, COVID Policies were not in effect.

  • We will be complying with all mandates for Massachusetts’ standards for reopening, which are summarized here:
  • Masks are not mandatory for drop off or pick up.
  • Masks will generally not be worn while at camp, for both staff and campers.
  • If we do enter an indoor space, masks will be worn. We will comply with the State’s best practices which recommend not to wear masks while outside.
  • We will operate outside only (and only use inside for emergency shelter) – camp will be cancelled on inclement weather days. We will ask parents to pick up children early if we anticipate big storms coming through.
  • We will set up hand wash stations for use prior to lunch and snack, after bathroom use or any other time hands may get potentially exposed. We will also have hand sanitizer readily available.
  • We will have a dedicated staff member clean common spaces (i.e., port-a-potties, hand wash stations) regularly throughout the day with EPA-approved cleaner to disinfect.
  • We may need to shut down a particular group if there are close contacts but not necessarily the whole camp (as we will minimize exposures across groups) if any child or coach in that group has a confirmed case of COVID-19.
  • You can help us too – please get your child vaccinated if allowed by their age, and please strictly follow these screening criteria for attending camp. If any of these are true, you should not send your camper to camp, and we will verbally ask these during drop off each day:
  • Today or in the past 24 hours, have you or any household members had any of the following symptoms?
    • Fever (temperature of 100.0F or above), felt feverish, or had chills?
    • Cough?
    • Sore throat?
    • Difficulty breathing?
    • Gastrointestinal symptoms (diarrhea, nausea, vomiting)?
    • Fatigue? (Fatigue alone should not exclude a child from participation.)
    • Headache? New loss of smell/taste?
    • New muscle aches?
    • Any other signs of illness
    • In the past 14 days, have you had close contact with a person known to be infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19)?
